The Guardian has reported that Antonio Conte is now holding talks for the Tottenham Hotspur job.
All the talk over the past week has centered around Mauricio Pochettino returning to North London.
But Conte, according to the English publication today, is now speaking with Tottenham’s hierarchy about replacing Jose Mourinho.
The 51-year-old has enjoyed a trophy-laden career as a manager and has just won another Serie A title – his fourth – with Inter Milan, before quit the club last week.
Here’s how Lilywhites legend Graham Roberts reacted to the rumour about Conte:
Very exciting
Well, Roberts is right about that.
Remember, in addition to winning four Serie A titles, he has also won the Premier League after a spell with Chelsea.
Some cynics might argue that so did Mourinho and that didn’t exactly work out, which is true.
But Conte is seven years younger and the fact it’s only been a couple of weeks since he last won a trophy is evidence that his ideas remain very relevant in football.
