Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has suggested it is very doubtful that Heung-Min Son plays against Aston Villa on Sunday, as per his comments on the club’s official app.
Reports earlier in the week claimed that Son’s injury problem was not suspected to be severe and he could be back to play for Tottenham at the weekend.
However, Mourinho’s latest comments have dampened those hopes.
He said: “No chance for this match [against Zagreb], no chance at all. I even feel it’s very doubtful for the weekend. I believe that he’s going to need the international break to recover.”
Son’s absence really should not affect the outcome of Tottenham’s tie against Dinamo Zagreb too much.
Spurs are already in a commanding position in the contest, having won 2-0 in the first leg, and now are strong favourites to progress.

If the £22 million man (Guardian) is unavailable against Villa it could be a blow for Mourinho’s side, though.
Spurs will also be without Erik Lamela, which leaves their attacking options far more limited.
Steven Bergwijn and Dele Alli are likely to be among those hoping for a chance if Son does miss out.
