Jose Mourinho has praised Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko and Davinson Sanchez in Football London, after his side’s defeat to Sheffield United.
Spurs were disappointingly poor as they slipped to a 3-1 loss at Bramall Lane.
Tottenham’s defence were exposed on numerous occasions, with Mourinho’s side making some shocking errors.
But the Portuguese boss actually felt that Spurs dealt with the threat from Sheffield United well initially.
Mourinho claims that Dier, Sissoko and Sanchez came out on top in the aerial battles, but not enough of their Tottenham teammates were happy to scrap for the rebounds.
“In the first half, we were very dominant in the long defensive balls,” he said.
“In all these kicks, extremely long, we were very dominant there. Dier, Sissoko, Davinson won every ball in the air, but then we need to win the second ball and be more aggressive there in the transition to attack.”

Despite Mourinho’s positive comments, it would be a shock if Tottenham lined-up with the same back four for their next contest.
Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen surely must have a chance of starting for Spurs for the first time since the restart now, as Dier and Sanchez both struggled in Yorkshire.
Spurs are next in action on Monday evening, when they take on Everton.
