Some Liverpool fans have stated on Twitter that they would like the Reds to sign Leroy Sane from Manchester City.

City manager Pep Guardiola has told BBC Sport that Sane will not sign a new contract.

The former Barcelona boss has said that the 24-year-old winger will either leave this summer or head out at the end of next season on a free transfer.

Guardiola told BBC Sport about Sane: “He wants to join another club. I don’t know if he will leave this summer or next summer when his contract expires.”

The former Barcelona boss added: “When we make an offer to a player it’s because we want him.

“He has special quality. We want players who want to play with the club to achieve targets.”

Some Liverpool fans believes that the Germany international, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, would be a good signing for the team.

Liverpool transfer this summer?

Sane is one of the best attacking players in the Premier League, and the former Schalke star would make Liverpool better and more potent in attack.

However, it is unlikely that City will sell the 24-year-old to a direct Premier League title rival this summer.

Moreover, Sane – who cost City £37 million in transfer fees, according to BBC Sport – himself may not fancy a switch to Liverpool, as he would face the same problem he has at City now – a regular spot in the starting lineup.
