Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix is more likely to join Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United than Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to AS.
Manchester United more likely than Arsenal to sign Joao Felix
The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all are interested in signing Felix from Atletico in January.
Former La Liga champions Atletico are willing to offload the 23-year-old Portugal international, who played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
And, according to AS, Manchester United and PSG are the two most likely destinations for the attacker, not Arsenal.
GiveMeSport reported in October that Arsenal are interested in signing Felix, who can operate as a forward, winger or attacking midfielder.

Understandable
We can understand why Manchester United would be more likely than Arsenal to sign Joao Felix in the January transfer window.
Felix – described as “very dangerous” by then Villarreal head coach Unai Emery in TribalFootball in August 2022 – is not a natural number 9, and Arsenal need a striker now to compensate for the loss of Gabriel Jesus to injury.
The Gunners do have creative players in Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard, so someone like Felix is really not at the top of the priority list..
Manchester United are undergoing a rebuild project yet again, and given that Felix is only 23, they could see him as a long-term project.
Moreover, United would also be willing to spend more money on a single player than Arsenal in the middle of the season.
