Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways in the FA Cup yesterday.
Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen warms
During an interview with reporters following his side’s impressive 3-0 win over Fulham in the fifth round of the FA Cup, Spurs centre-back Jan Vertonghen explained how he and his teammates are targeting glory in all three competitions that they remain involved in, as quoted by Eurosport.
Tottenham have impressed on the whole so far this term, and despite their struggles in the Champions League, they remain very much alive in the Europa League, the FA Cup, and the Premier League.
The league must surely be Mauricio Pochettino’s priority, however, and with 10 points to make up on league leaders Chelsea they can ill-afford to make many more slip ups.
The 29-year-old Belgium international believes they have a squad that is fit enough to compete on all fronts though, and responded to a question asking which competition he believes his manager will prioritise over the coming months, as quoted by Eurosport:
“He understands the importance of the Europa League and FA Cup. It’s good that we take it very seriously: we want to win both and compete in the league as well, and our team is fit enough to cope with these things.”

The one main criticism of Pochettino during his tenure at White Hart Lane has been for his failure to build a squad with enough strength-in-depth to compete on all four fronts.
And that Tottenham squad will be tested to the maximum over the next few weeks as they look to juggle success both domestically and on the continent.
