Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Graham Potter’s Chelsea are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, but it seems that he is set to move to Bayern Munich next summer instead.

It was only on November 25 when SkySport journalist Florian Plettenberg reported on Twitter that Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing Laimer.

The well-known and well-respected journalist claimed that the 25-year-old Austria international midfielder was leaning towards a switch to defending German champions Bayern, but Liverpool and Chelsea were still in the race for his signature.

However, Plettenberg is now reporting on Twitter that the former RB Salzburg star has reached a verbal agreement with Bayern.

According to the journalist, the midfielder will move to Bayern on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 when his current contract with Leipzig runs out.

Laimer will sign a long-term contract with the former UEFA Champions League winners, according to Plettenberg.

This will come as a disappointment for Liverpool and Chelsea, but we are not surprised at all.

After all, Bayern are the biggest and richest club in Germany who regularly win the Bundesliga and compete for the UEFA Champions League, and a move to the Bavarian giants is a big deal for many players.
