Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy insists he has no regrets over turning down a move to Arsenal.

Vardy snubbed the chance to switch to the Gunners in 2016, immediately after Leicester City’s stunning title win.

Speaking to SkySports, and quizzed about potentially missing out on a 2016/17 FA Cup medal which Arsenal won this past season, Vardy dismissed the achievement as not strong enough to convince him he made an error.

He said: “It wasn’t the Premier League was it?”

Vardy added that he predicted Arsenal’s downfall, as despite their FA Cup win, last year was the first time under Arsene Wenger that they have failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Saying he has no regrets, Vardy said: “I’ll never regret anything I’ve chosen to do. I’m a bit of a psychic, I could see the little downfall they are on now.

“They had qualified for the Champions League for the last 20 years until last year. That was something to think about.

“But there were all sorts of reasons. Football was the main thing, but moving the family when I’d just bought a house would have been a laugh – not.”

At the time when Arsenal were trying to sign him, Vardy was under a lot of pressure not to break up a successful Leicester side.

N’Golo Kante was the only top star to quit, although he now has been followed to Chelsea by Danny Drinkwater to reunite their league winning partnership.

Arsenal have won just one game this season, coming against Leicester on the opening week of the season.

Leicester also have just three points, bouncing back by beating Brighton but then getting beaten by Manchester United.
