Leeds United have taken Swedish youngster Erion Sadiku.
Swedish club Varbergs BoIS have confirmed on their official website that teenager Erion Sadiku has joined Leeds United on trial.
Whilst Leeds did bring in big-name signing over the summer, such as Samu Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski and Pierre-Michel Lasogga, director of football Victor Orta did also oversee a huge influx of Under-23 talent.
Bryce Hosannah, Oriol Rey, Ousama Siddiki, Adrian Balboa, Madger Gomes, Oliver Sarkic and Kun Temenuzhkov all joined Leeds over the summer as the Whites placed a certain level of focus on the future – and that has continued recently.
Leeds snapped up Ryan Edmondson from York City in November, and today confirmed the arrival of striker Sam Dalby from non-league Leyton Orient, again signing a player for the Under-23’s.
That focus on youth may continue further, as Swedish club Varbergs BoIS have confirmed on their official website that Erion Sadiku has joined Leeds on trial.
Sadiku is just 15, but has been spotted by Leeds and has headed to West Yorkshire to try and impress and ultimately win a permanent deal at Elland Road.
Varbergs’ statement featured sporting director Kujtim Bala congratulating Sadiku on his trial, with the forward potentially heading to Leeds to join some of his fellow Swedes.
Leeds have brought in Pontus Jansson and Pawel Cibicki in recent years, as well as Marcus Antonsson, and they could tap into the Swedish market again with the move for Sadiku.
