Benzema missed one of the best chances he will ever get in a Real Madrid shirt during the match, which prompted a Tweet from van Nistelrooy who was monitoring the game as part of a Q&A session for sponsors Heineken.
It’s been widely reported that Benzema is low on confidence at the Spanish club this season, with reports appearing regular over apparent interest in the striker from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
However, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in the Spanish press that the French forward will get more chances in the Real Madrid attack and will start against Barcelona in the El Classico match up this weekend.
