Virgil van Dijk has claimed that ‘we should talk a little bit more’ about his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane, as he told his pre-match press conference.
With a lot of talk around Mo Salah, and whether he is one of the best players in the world, Van Dijk reminded fans that Mane did something that’s ‘not normal’ over the weekend.
The left-sided Liverpool player netted his 100th Premier League goal of his career, when his side thrashed Watford 5-0.
Not so long ago, Salah reached that feat, but his partner in crime has now joined him on that list having not scored a single penalty during that period, which is even more impressive.
Ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid, this is what Van Dijk had to say about two of his teammates.
“I think he (Salah) has been showing it for a longer period of time,” said Van Dijk. “It’s now that everyone is talking about it. Everyone is following each other and talking each others efforts. The numbers speak for itself. He’s a fantastic player.
“You look at that team as well, we have such a great team and players. You look at the game at Waford, Sadio scored his 100th Premier League goal. We should talk about that a little bit more.
“It’s not something that’s normal.”

The Liverpool that has turned up this season is showing signs from the one that won the Champions League and the Premier League a number of years ago.
Nevermind just one of the front three being in form, every single one of them is performing at top speed, and you have to have something special about you to keep them at bay.
Atletico are a defensive-minded coach and Diego Simeone will be working his players tirelessly to try and stop Liverpool from scoring tonight.
But even one of the best defensive-minded teams in Europe are going to struggle to stop any of the front three scoring.
Either way, it is going to be some clash and one of contrasting styles in Madrid on Tuesday night.
