Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk has said on Sky Sports that Manchester City player Nathan Ake is underrated.
Van Dijk made the comments about Ake while discussing the best central defenders in the world.
The former Celtic star plays with the City central defender for the Netherlands national football team.
Van Dijk said: “Nathan Ake, underrated.”
What’s the future for Nathan Ake?
Ake joined City from Bournemouth in the summer of 2020.
The Netherlands international central defender has done well for the Citizens when he has played.
But the problem is that the 26-year-old is not a regular in the first team.
In fact, Ake is a squad player at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Chelsea man, who can also operate as a left-back, has made two Premier League appearances for City so far this season.
The City no.6 made nine starts and one substitute appearance in the league last season.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Ake in the coming weeks and months.
It is really hard to see Ake get ahead of Ruben Dias, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte in the pecking order.
Could Ake leave next summer if he does not play enough?
Possibly.
