Newcastle United have been linked with Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen in the January transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, Premier League club Newcastle are interested in signing from Jorgensen from Dutch side Feyenoord in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that the Magpies’ £15 million offer for the Denmark international striker has been turned down.
Feyenoord are claimed to be want as much as £20m in order to part company with the 27-year-old this month.
Feyenoord manager Van Bronckhorst, who played for Arsenal in England from 2001 until 2003, has suggested that he does not want Jorgensen to leave in January.
Van Bronckhorst said about Jorgensen, as quoted by The Chronicle (Transfer live, 13:11, Friday, January 26, 2018): “I want to keep the team together, that seems clear to me.
“I would like to keep him for the club, because he is an important player, I know there is contact, but there is not much information about how or what, I am waiting for information from Martin van Geel.”
Van Bronckhorst may not be willing to part company with Jorgensen in the January transfer window, but given how keen Newcastle reportedly are in the striker, one suspects that if the Magpies increase their bid, then Feyenoord are likely to let the Denmark international leave.
