Tam McManus has claimed that Celtic are now favourites to reclaim the Scottish Premiership title from Rangers.
Rangers are top of the table and four points clear of their Old Firm rivals after 13 games.
But Celtic fans will be hoping that Steven Gerrard’s departure from Ibrox this week has a negative effect on the Light Blues going forward.
Speculation is rife that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is set to replace the 41-year-old in Glasgow.
But McManus can’t see the Dutchman hitting the ground running and claims that the Premiership title is there for the taking for Celtic.
He told PLZ Soccer: “I think Celtic are now favourites. Yes I think he [Van Bronckhorst] is a decent manager but it’s very difficult to hit the ground running. Celtic fans will be happy Gerrard’s left. There’s no doubt about that.”

Rangers fans won’t like to admit it, but McManus might have a point.
Obviously Ange Postecoglou is hardly a veteran of Parkhead, having only arrived in the summer, the Hoops are a lot more settled under the Australian coach.
It isn’t impossible for Van Bronckhorst – who won a league title at Feyenoord a few years ago – to hit the ground running on his return to Glasgow, after representing the Gers as a player.
But there’s bound to be early hiccups and that’s when it is vital for Celtic to strike.
