Rangers have been rocked by a development regarding Ianis Hagi.
The 24-year-old has already been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Hagi underwent knee surgery last month after picking up an injury for Rangers against Stirling Albion in a Scottish Cup affair.
However, Gers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has added that not only will the Romania international sit out the rest of the campaign, but also the start of the 2022-23 term.
He told the media via Herald Scotland today: “Hagi is likely to miss the start of the season, hopefully, his recovery will go smoothly.”
Negative development
Hagi joined Rangers for £4 million under Steven Gerrard during the summer of 2020.
And there’s simply no doubting that Van Bronckhorst is going to miss him over the coming months.
The good news here is that the injury came at a good time for the Ibrox outfit.
There was still time for Rangers to sign a replacement, given that it happened before the transfer window shut – and what a replacement the Dutchman brought to Glasgow.
On deadline day, the light Blues confirmed a loan agreement to bring Aaron Ramsey in from Juventus.
The former Arsenal midfielder hasn’t made his full Rangers debut as of yet but, speaking to Herald Scotland, Van Bronckhorst added that it could come against Annan Athletic tomorrow evening.
He added: “Aaron is fit to start, he is getting better and fresher every day.”
