Giovanni van Bronckhorst has reportedly identified two of his backroom staff should he become the new manager of Ibrox club Rangers.

What’s the story?

Rangers are interested in appointing Van Bronckhorst as their new manager, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports have also claimed that Rangers and the Dutch manager held talks today.

According to The Scottish Sun, the 46-year-old will bring fellow Dutchman Jan Wouters as his number two.

Wouters was part of Dick Advocaat’s coaching team at Rangers.

The same publication has reported that Van Bronckhorst also hopes to bring Jean-Paul van Gastel.

The 49-year-old former Netherlands international is now in charge of Guangzhou City.

Sensible from Giovanni van Bronckhorst

It is really sensible of Van Bronckhorst to have already identified two of his backroom staff should he get the job at Rangers.

This shows how prepared the former Arsenal star is.

The 46-year-old knows that he will have to put his team in place quickly.

After all, the season is in all full swing now, and Celtic are not that far behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table.
