Giovanni van Bronckhorst has paid tribute to the ‘unbelievable’ Rangers fans.
The Dutchman kicked off his Gers career with a win by beating Sparta Prague 2-0 in the Europa League.
The Rangers fans turned Ibrox into a cauldron for the 46-year-old’s return.
This was Van Bronckhorst’s first game as light Blues boss, after enjoying a successful playing career at the club.
Here’s how he reacted to the win on Instagram:
Groove
Alfredo Morelos scored both goals during Van Bronckhorst’s coronation.
And what a massive boost for Rangers if he can get the Colombian scoring on a regular basis.
Morelos is a much better goalscorer than he showed under Steven Gerrard this season.
His inconsistency issues were causing the Premiership champions all sorts of issues.
But as far as talent goes, nobody in this Rangers squad comes close to matching the South American as a goal threat.
And if he gets his groove back – on a regular basis – then Van Bronckhorst will find the Rangers job a lot easier.
Having said that, January is approaching and no doubt Morelos will be the focus of transfer speculation again.
But if the Gers can weather that storm, and keep him in Scotland, the second half of the campaign could be very encouraging.
