Speaking to the Chronicle, Sunderland defender Patrick van Aanholt has warned the club’s new signings that they must adapt quickly to the Premier League.
The Black Cats are currently 19th in the league after another disastrous start to the season has seen them pick up just one point from four games.
Monday night was their worst performance to date as Everton ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at the Stadium of Light.

After ten new signings this summer, David Moyes side are still learning to work with each other with that lack of understanding was evident in the loss to the Blues.
And Van Aanholt has warned the new signings they will need to adapt quickly to life in the top flight.
“Of course, they need to adapt,” he told the Chronicle.
“We’re training every day with them, so we’re trying to explain to them how to adapt, how to play and they’re taking it very well. We just want to move forward.”

At this moment in time, it certainly appears that Sunderland are in for another tough season this year.
Their squad does not look up to scratch and of those ten signings, only Adnan Januzaj is looking like a smart one.
Of course, it is still early days and they will be hoping that the others can improve quickly to ensure another relegation battle is not on the cards.
