Liverpool have been linked with Netherlands international Jurrien Timber in recent weeks.
Back in March, 90Min reported that the Reds were eyeing the exciting Ajax defender.
Timber has reportedly asked his representatives to explore interested suitors ahead of the transfer window.

However, Liverpool are far from the only club apparently eyeing the talented 21-year-old.
As well as the Reds, the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Marseille are reportedly in pursuit.
Now, Liverpool – and their other suitors – may well have received a boost in the form of Ajax’s dismal weekend defeat.
Timber’s side fell to a 3-0 defeat at PSV Eindhoven on Sunday.
This saw slip to third in the table, 11 points adrift of table-topping Feyenoord.
Former Ajax coach Winston Bogarde spoke about the team’s defeat on Ziggo Sport – via FC Update – alongside Marco van Basten.
Bogarde believes the players’ value has “fallen sharply” as a result of their below-par campaign.
“It was just good in recent seasons,” he said.
“Ajax showed itself in the Champions League, which increased the value of players enormously.
“If you compare that to this season, the value has fallen sharply.”
Van Basten added: “You can see it, because Timber is just a good player.
“He is now in a team with quite a few suckers around him. He is also going to be bad!”
Our view
Bogarde’s comments suggest that Liverpool could well end up paying less for Timber.
Failing to qualify for the Champions League would place Ajax in a difficult position, and as such, clubs could well pounce.
Admittedly, with so many clubs in pursuit of Timber, there’s the risk of a bidding war that’d push the price up.

Nonetheless, it looks as though Timber is thinking about his next big career move, even though he’s happy where he is.
“You never know what crosses your path,” he recently told Ajax Live, via 90Min.
“This summer I will look at my options and make a decision.
“I feel good at Ajax, that’s important for now. Last summer there was interest, but I chose to stay.”
With how the Eredivisie giants have been doing this season, Timber may well decide he wants something new.
And as ‘one of the most exciting defensive prospects in football right now’ (Breaking the Lines), Liverpool should certainly look to make a move.
