Rafael Benitez has reportedly had his eye on Valon Berisha for 18 months at Newcastle United.
Berisha has impressed at Red Bull Salzburg over recent seasons, and his form over the past year has been particularly impressive.
Salzburg made it to the quarter-finals of the Europa League this term, and Berisha’s attacking quality was a major reason behind their success.
The Kosovo international hit 13 goals and claimed 11 assists across all competitions, and was a constant menace.
Although Berisha would be making a big step up by moving to Newcastle he would have the quality to be a massive hit at St. James’ Park.
Berisha is a talented dribbler, who also possesses an abundance of skill, which can keep defenders guessing.
It is not yet clear whether Newcastle will make a move to sign Berisha this summer, but he is on their radar.
And if Benitez can complete a deal with Salzburg for their star man then it would provide a reason for the St. James’ Park crowd to get excited.
