Tottenham Hotspur should consider a move for the Valencia hitman.

Mauricio Pochettino manager

This summer will be vital for Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham, and if they are to make real strides towards making a sustained challenge for the Premier League title, the Argentine simply must address certain areas of his squad.

One particular area that Pochettino needs to strengthen is his centre-forward department, after Fernando Llorente proved that he is not quite good enough to serve as Harry Kane’s understudy.

With this in mind, Tottenham should consider a move for Valencia hitman Rodrigo.

The Spaniard was in fine form for the Spanish outfit last season, chalking up 19 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions, and he would be a useful addition to the Spurs squad.

Whilst he would not be brought in to replace Kane in the starting XI, he would provide Pochettino with a different option through the middle, should the need arise for him to mix things up.

Tottenham are in desperate need of real competition up front to keep the England international on his toes, and the Valencia man could be just the ticket.

According to Transfer Markt, Rodrigo is valued at €40 million (£35.4 million), and in today’s market, that would surely be considered as decent value for Spurs.
