West Bromwich Albion could sign supposed transfer target Alvaro Negredo for £6.2m this summer as Valencia look to cash in on the striker.

The 31-year-old is keen to stay in the Premier League after spending the last season on loan at Middlesbrough from the Mestalla Stadium.
“The goal is to continue competing in a top league in Europe, and the Premier League remains the preference,” Negredo’s agent, Juanma Lopez, was quoted by Spanish publication Fichajes.
And while Boro themselves struggled in the English top tier, getting relegated as the lowest scorers in the division, the Spaniard’s record in front of goal was not too bad.

Negredo scored ten goals in 39 appearances in all competitions, while his record the last time he was in England with Manchester City was even better – 23 strikes in 49 games.
In fact wherever the Spain international has played throughout his career he has regularly found the net and while he is fast approaching his 32nd birthday and will require relatively high wages, perhaps the forward is the consistent goalscorer the Baggies are currently lacking.
