Signing Maxi Gomez is reportedly West Ham United’s priority this summer.

It looks very possible that West Ham United are about to miss out on Maxi Gomez.
Gomez has been linked with a move to East London for much of the summer so far and, according to The London Evening Standard, he is Manuel Pellegrini’s number one transfer target.
The problem is that Marca reported on Tuesday that Valencia expect to sign the Uruguayan hitman, and the Spanish side’s English social media account showed some quite poor etiquette last night.
West Ham fans are on tenterhooks after Valencia’s Twitter account posted: “Stay tuned!!!!!!! Big things are coming.”
That tweet was posted at 10.25pm UK time and there was no follow-up message immediately, during the night or in the early hours of this morning. Nothing.
There is no indication that it’s an announcement about a transfer but, going by the excessive amount of exclamation marks, it seems plausible that it is about an arrival.
If it’s about Gomez then it’s back to the drawing board for the Irons, who have alternative targets in the form of Moussa Marega and Salomon Rondon.
