Everton should seriously consider making a summer swoop for the Valencia ace.
Everton boss Marco Silva has a lot of work to do during the transfer window this summer, and one area where the Portuguese will want to strengthen immediately is his centre-forward department.
With this in mind, the Toffees should consider a move for Valencia hitman Rodrigo, with Spanish media outlet Don Balon claiming that there could be a scramble for his signature this summer.
The 27-year-old was in fine form for Los Che last season, scoring 19 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions – a campaign that has seen him overtake Alvaro Morata as Spain’s first-choice centre-forward.
Rodrigo possesses exceptional movement, and has the uncanny ability to play both with his back to goal as well as making penetrating runs inside the opposition’s defence.
He really would be an outstanding addition to Everton’s squad, who seem to be looking rather threadbare in the forward department with Wayne Rooney set for an exit from Goodison Park, and he would offer fantastic competition fro Cenk Tosun.
The Spaniard also has experience of playing in England, having spent a year playing with Bolton Wanderers from 2010-2011.
Rodrigo is a strong and intelligent centre-forward, and at the age of 27, he is now entering the prime years of his career for a striker, and a move to Everton could be the making of him.
The Toffees would benefit immensely from having someone like the Valencia ace at Goodison next season, and they should not hesitate to bring him to the club this summer.
According to Transfer Markt, he is valued at £36 million, and that would represent decent value in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market.
