Valencia beat Celtic 2-0 in the Europa League.

Marcelino Garcia Toral, Manager of Valencia looks on prior to the La Liga match between Valencia CF and Villarreal CF at Estadio Mestalla on January 26, 2019 in Valencia, Spain.

Valencia manager Marcelino has praised Celtic after his side won in Glasgow.

The Spanish side made light work of Celtic, despite the strong form of Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Celtic lost 2-0, conceding their first goals of 2019.

He went on to praise his team for the way they responded to it, saying he was very satisfied with his players.

It would have been difficult for Valencia if Celtic had managed to score the first goal and really lift the fans further.

Instead the visitors’ opener left a sense of deflation, and realisation that once again, Celtic were on their way to another European humbling.

Celtic still have the away leg to come, but realistically, their European adventure looks like it is nearly over for another year.
