Vakoun Issouf Bayo has posted on Instagram after being left as an unused substitute in Celtic’s 2-0 Scottish Premiership win over Hibernian at Parkhead on Wednesday night.

Ryan Christie gave Celtic the lead after excellent work from on-loan Borussia Dortmund right-back Jeremy Toljan, before another January recruit Oliver Burke’s deflected effort found its way past Ofir Marcano.

Bayo, 22, who was signed by Celtic from Sloavkian side Dunajska Streda for a fee of £2million (Herald), is still waiting to make his debut after admitting himself that he joined the Scottish champions unfit.

But he took a step closer to making his debut by appearing on the bench for Brendan Rodgers’ side on Wednesday, though he failed to make an appearance. He posted on Instagram, stating it was “unlucky” to be left on the sidelines.

Bayo joins a side brimming with attacking talent after Rodgers brought in Burke and Timothy Weah in January. The club also boast Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths, though both are currently on the sidelines.

The Ivory Coast international has also been left out of Celtic’s side to play against Valencia in the last 32 of the Europa League, but could make his debut on Sunday as the Hoops host St. Johnstone in the Scottish Cup.
