Named after Colin Bell the Manchester City youngster is currently playing for England despite obvious German opportunities.

It has not been a positive season for Uwe Rosler. He was appointed the new Leeds boss in the summer and was expected to lead a resurgence at the club alongside executive director Adam Pearson.

However Pearson quit and Rosler struggled to get results at Leeds. In the end Massimo Cellino made the decision he so often does and relieved the German of his duties at Leeds United.

But while things are not going great for the recently unemployed Uwe there is a definite reason to celebrate in the Rosler household.

His son Colin has been named in the England under-16 side for the upcoming Nike International Tournament Cup in the USA.

Of course Rosler has double nationality. Colin, who is named after Manchester City legend Colin Bell, could play for Germany as well seeing as his old man played five times for East Germany in 1990. Rosler Jr was in fact born in England during Uwe’s stint at Southampton.

Rosler went on to play and, after recovering from a battle with cancer, manage in Norway before returning to England 2011 and eventually settling in Stockport.

His most successful stint as a player came in his four years at Manchester so it was no surprise to see him settling in the area once his career had come to an end and now his son – who can play in midfield or at full-back – is set to represent England.

Hopefully he can go on to become an England star at the detriment of fiercest rivals Germany.
