Uwe Rosler is determined to ensure that his Leeds United side build on their momentum after an unbeaten start.
Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler has told his squad that they must ensure that they continue to build momentum in future matches.
The Whites are still unbeaten this campaign – even if they have not won as many matches as they would have hoped for – and Rosler is pleased with his side’s resilience.
The German boss believes that their 1-1 draw against Brentford last weekend kept them ticking along nicely, and he stressed the importance of not losing the fixture to his players after the match.
“I think it’s important that we keep that momentum going. It’s very hard to get that momentum,” he said to Leeds’ official site.
“I said to the players ‘We can’t be careless to give the momentum away’.
“On Saturday we got a draw and wanted the win – everybody could see we wanted the win – but that doesn’t mean we weren’t careless.
“There were one or two crazy things that we did, but overall we’re Marching on Together.”
Leeds have drawn five of their first six league matches of the new campaign, with their solitary win coming against Derby County.
That performance highlighted the potential in Rosler’s squad, and their task will be ensuring that they continue to meet these standards in the future.
The Whites can still be encouraged by their start though, and Rosler already seems to have made them a tough outfit to beat.
That is a vast improvement on previous seasons, when Leeds have often been inconsistent and erratic in their displays, and if they can keep their unbeaten run up for a sustained period of time they should be a good position to meet their target of finishing in the top 10.
