Rangers ace and Leeds target once played under their former boss at Wigan.
Rangers’ Martyn Waghorn celebrates scoring
Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn is a summer transfer target for Leeds United, The Mail reported this week.
The forward has led the line effectively for Rangers over the past two seasons, netting 43 goals in all competitions.
Questions over his signature do not simply include whether he could cut it in the Premier League if Leeds get there, but whether he could be more than a back up to Chris Wood?
Waghorn could potentially thank former Leeds boss Uwe Rosler if Leeds decide to consider him, with the German adding an extra bow to his game by playing him out wide for Wigan Athletic.

Rosler signed Waghorn for Wigan in 2014 from Leicester City, after impressing on loan.
He played 28 times under Rosler, scoring seven goals and impressively providing eight assists. So far this season only one player Pablo Hernandez, has matched that tally of assists, with Kemar Roofe next closest, providing five.
Rosler spoke highly of him after clinching a deal in early 2014, telling The BBC: “On the pitch he has added something different, scoring and assisting crucial goals and he gives us another tremendous option from set-pieces.
“Off the pitch he has a real professional attitude, he works hard and has fitted in perfectly to the dressing room.”
Garry Monk has spoken previously about a player’s character being absolutely crucial when he is recruiting players, that they must fit into the group. Rosler’s comments act like a vote of confidence in this regard.
Leeds will face competition to sign Waghorn from Rangers from other Championship clubs, but his versatility could make him a player worth pushing the boat out for.
