Former Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler has been rewarded for his fantastic work at League One side Fleetwood Town by being named the divisions best manage this season.

He has turned the Cod Army from relegation fodder into promotion hopefuls and that has not gone unnoticed. Fleetwood are currently third in the league, just one point behind Bolton Wanderers in second.

Speaking after winning the award the German once again made reference to his time at Elland Road, which was extremely brief.

Rosler told the Blackpool Gazette he did all that was asked of him by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, but that he was pleased to now be in a more stable environment:

“After what happened at Leeds, I still find it very hard to take.

“I did exactly what the chairman told me but I needed a club where I would find my happiness, working with players in a stable environment. I found that with Fleetwood from day one.

“It wasn’t a matter of money but it was about enjoying myself again. That’s why I’m here and we will see where it takes us.”

Now, Leeds fans are happy with their current situation. They are thriving under Garry Monk and are looking to push for promotion back to the Premier League.

Rosler was not afforded much time at Leeds. He had just 12 games in West Yorkshire before being unceremoniously ousted and replaced by Steve Evans.

Who knows what might have been had he remained at Elland Road? But it is good to see both parties have progressed well since their brusque separation.
