The German tactician lasted just 12 games at Elland Road.
Fleetwood Town manager Uwe Rosler
Uwe Rosler has been commenting on his painful experience at Leeds United, as he continues to defy expectations at League One club Fleetwood Town.
The German was speaking to the Guardian when he had this to say about his Leeds United woes:
“I found what happened at Leeds to me very hard to take and I needed a club to give me my happiness back, allow me to work with players, in a stable environment, and I found that with Fleetwood from day one.
“For me, it was irrelevant which division, it was not a matter of money, it was just a matter of me working and enjoying myself again. I am doing that.”
Rosler managed just 12 games at Leeds, winning two of them, before being sacked by Massimo Cellino and replaced by Steve Evans.
It was a chastening experience, especially as he had a long-term plan for the club. But the notoriously impatient Cellino decided that German was not going to bring Leeds success and moved him on.
Rosler has taken that bad experience and turned things around with the Cod Army.
Former Leeds manager Uwe Rosler celebrates winning the match
He led his new side to a 2-0 win against Scunthorpe United at the weekend, a result that moves them into the automatic promotion places in the League One table.
Leeds themselves are pushing for promotion this season under the brilliant management of summer appointment Garry Monk and things at Elland Road finally appear to be more settled.
But Rosler might just hope they do not make it back to the top-flight, so he can seek revenge with his Fleetwood side next season.
