Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react angrily after hearing Simon Jordan speak about Carlo Ancelotti on talkSPORT yesterday.
The former Crystal Palace chairman said that he doesn’t believe the Italian is the right man for the Toffees, in what was a strange statement.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan said: “I have reservations about Ancelotti. They don’t have the squad or the personnel (to get top four), and I don’t know if they have the manager. I’m not sure.”
Understandably, a number of Everton fans have leapt to Ancelotti’s defence on Twitter after hearing what was said.
In our view, we can’t understand why Jordan doesn’t think the ex-Chelsea boss is a good fit for the Goodison Park hot-seat.
The 61-year-old has managed at the very highest level in football, and boasts a CV which any manager would be proud of.
In addition to managing superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Didier Drogba, Ancelotti has won three Champions League titles.
The Toffees boss has also won the league title in England, France and Germany, among a whole host of other trophies.
Regardless of his past, Ancelotti is currently doing a great job, so we’re not too sure of the foundation in which Jordan has based his claim on.
Everton currently sit just four points off fourth in the Premier League, with two games in hand over the sides above them.
It’s been a great season so far, and Ancelotti deserves to be praised rather than questioned.
