Tim Sherwood told Premier League Productions that Heung-Min Son is an underappreciated footballer and the Tottenham forward doesn’t t get the credit he deserves.
The former Spurs boss thinks the Tottenham forward is capable of playing for ‘any team’ in the world, including Liverpool and he would use the hard-working ‘superstar’ as a reference to the academy players.
Son scored and provided an assist for his title-chasing side on Saturday as they comfortably dispatched free-scoring Leeds.
After the game, Sherwood spoke in awe of Son’s talents and how his hard-work and versatility make him an ‘incredible’ footballer.
“Incredible,” said Sherwood. “I don’t think he gets the credit that he deserves. He does from the professionals. But from the outside. I think the Tottenham fans appreciate him.
“Let me tell you, this kid could play for any team in the world. Anywhere. He’s capable of playing for Liverpool because he can play off the left, the right and down the middle. He’s adaptable. He’s so versatile and he’s a team player.
“You see the work under a new regime now with Jose Mourinho where he wants him to defend a little bit. He’s happy to defend. He’ll do that shift. He’s a dream for a manager.
On attitude: “It’s key for anyone but that guy has got it in bundles. If you are a youth team player there you look up towards the first-team, just look at him. I would use him as a reference saying ‘look at him, he’s a superstar but he’s a superstar because he works hard’.”

It’s been five years since Tottenham paid £22 million [BBC Sport] for Son’s services and every pound spent has been well worth it.
At times, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy can get stick for missing out on top talents, i.e the well-documented bid for Jack Grealish when he was in the Championship.
But in this case, Levy, those in the Spurs boardroom and the new PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino have ended up making one of the best signings in Tottenham’s history.
