A USA supporter has been mocked by the Bosnian community on social media ahead of their World Cup round of 32 meeting.

The USA will play Bosnia and Herzegovina for a place in the last 16 and many have tipped Mauricio Pochettino’s side to get the job done on Wednesday night.

There are no easy games in a World Cup, though, and one supporter thought they would have it extra difficult by coming up against two sides.

USA fan thinks Bosnia and Herzegovina are two teams

Ahead of USA vs Bosnia on Wednesday 1 July, preparations are under way.

It is the first time the two have played each other, but the name Bosnia and Herzegovina has confused one fan on Threads. They wrote: “Why the —- are we playing two nations in this World Cup knock out stage and others are playing just one nation, why are we playing Bosnia & Herzegovina and others are playing just one nation?”

The reaction was widely mocked by Bosnian supporters across social media, with one person replying: “Good thing they weren’t in a group with Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts and Nevis and Antigua and Barbuda.”

For all we know it could have been a joke, but there seems to be a lot of confidence from US media too, with one journalist confessing she didn’t even know where it was on the map.

She said: “One thing about Bosnia. I could not point out where it is on a map, I don’t know the first thing about Bosnia and I don’t want to know a thing.

“Team USA, we’re back and better than ever. Prepare Bosnia because you don’t want it! You don’t want it like that.”
