West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has been chasing the signature of Maxi Gomez for much of the summer so far.

Uruguay’s exit from the Copa America means things are about to become easier for West Ham United in the race to sign Maxi Gomez.
The Hammers have already seen a £25 million bid rejected for Gomez, but are yet to give up on signing the target-man.
West Ham’s task of getting Gomez was complicated, as Gomez was representing Uruguay at the Copa America over the past month.
However, Uruguay lost to Peru at the weekend, which means that Gomez is free to sort out his future.

It seems that West Ham are now reaching crunch time in the negotiations for the powerful forward, with Valencia also wanting him.
And it may be that the transfer sage is finally about to reach its conclusion, now Gomez’s country are out of the Copa America.
