Liverpool fans are urging Jurgen Klopp to make a move to sign Nicolo Barella, after watching him in action for Italy last night.
Reports have claimed that Liverpool are willing to pay £56 million for the midfield dynamo (Inter Live), but no such offer has been made yet.
Barella has caught the eye in Serie A this term, and he has now taken his domestic form onto the international stage.
The skillful creator helped Italy storm to a 3-0 win over Switzerland yesterday.
And Liverpool fans feel he would make a great addition to their squad.
Wijnaldum replacement?
Liverpool are looking for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, so a move for Barella could make sense.
The Italian may not be quite as physically imposing as Wijnaldum, but he is arguably a better technical operator, and would offer them more creativity in the final third.
Barella has been one of the stand out midfielders in Italy, and if Roberto Mancini’s side are to progress a long way in Euro 2020, they will be depending on his talents to help them progress.
