The former Crystal Palace manager has soared up the list of potential West Bromwich Albion appointments.
Odds on Alan Pardew becoming the next manager of West Bromwich Albion have significantly shortened over the course of Monday evening.
Pardew, who has been out of work since leaving Crystal Palace in December 2016, was a relative outsider at 10/1 around tea time (Sky Bet).
Hours later, the 56-year-old has emerged as the new second favourite for the role at 3/1, behind only Michael O’Neill (6/5) – having leapfrogged both Derek McInnes (now 8/1) and Sam Allardyce (10/3).
O’Neill is the current Northern Ireland boss, while Allardyce and McInnes, both ex-West Brom employees, are unemployed and manager of Aberdeen respectively.
West Brom sacked Tony Pulis earlier this morning, after Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea left them a point above the relegation places and without a win in 10 Premier League matches.
Pardew has previously managed West Ham United, Charlton Athletic and Newcastle United at Premier League level.
