An updated predicted starting line up for Leeds United’s visit to The Valley.
With six withdrawals from Leeds United’s squad through injury, as reported by Yorkshire Evening Post, we decided to take a second look at the possible XI with which they may start against Charlton Athletic.
Who’s out?
Marco Silvestri, Edgar Cani, Mirco Antenucci, Giuseppe Bellusci, Dario del Fabro, Souleymane Doukara are missing. Of these, Cani, Del Fabro and Doukara were unlikely to feature in any case.
Lewis Cook remains out with injury, while Gaetano Berardi has travelled but is also said to be nursing a problem.
The big concern is goalkeeper Marco Silvestri’s absence, with veteran Stuart Taylor ready to feature in goal.
Predicted team
Stuart Taylor
Scott Wootton, Sol Bamba, Liam Cooper, Charlie Taylor
Granddi Ngoyi
Sam Byram Luke Murphy Alex Mowatt
Rudolph Austin
Billy Sharp
Who and why?
With Berardi likely out, Charlie Taylor will have to revert back to left-back. This is likely to see Alex Mowatt play on the left as he did earlier this year.
Billy Sharp did not take advantage of his chance in midweek but another opportunity for him is needed, and Granddi Ngoyi too could do with a second game in a row.
Unlucky to miss out
Kalvin Phillips will likely be on the bench again along with Brian Montenegro, but it is also a chance for Redfearn to involve more ‘kids’, with Chris Dawson a possibility for the bench.
Despite the withdrawals Leeds still take a strong squad to Charlton and are capable of coming away with a result.
