HITC understands Wolverhampton Wolves’ bid to land Brazilian Yuri Alberto before Thursday’s deadline day has faltered.
Wolves made an initial move for the Corinthians striker over the weekend, and talks continued this week.

A deal looked close, as HITC revealed, and Alberto was keen to make the move to England. He almost joined West Ham United last summer but that deal also stalled and did not go through.
22-year-old Alberto is unsettled at Corinthians and has been seen to be unhappy with their head coach Mano Menezes.
Loan offer
Wolves presented a loan offer which would have been worth around £18million to the Brazilian giants – but they wanted a permanent deal and have said no to the offer from England.
Alberto arrived on a permanent deal in 2023 after a loan spell from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg – and Corinthians actually only own 50% of the player’s rights. But as it stands the player is staying in Brazil.
P & S worries
Wolves have admitted that they are up against it when it comes to profit and sustainability rules which does limit their approach in the transfer market.
They have shown an interest in Chelsea’s Armando Broja and it remains to be seen if they rekindle that interest with a number of clubs showing interest in landing the Albanian on deadline day.
