Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Joe Hart has been waxing-lyrical about Steven Bergwijn’s pace.
The Dutchman is certainly no slouch, bombing up and down the wing at an electric speed for Spurs, and Hart believes that the £25m man is one of the fastest footballers in the world.
Hart was playing a game where he had to guess some of Bergwijn’s attributes on FIFA 21, and he thought his pace rating would be very high.
“He’s up there with the fastest guys in the game, I don’t know what the fastest guys in the game are rated at, but I’m going to say 93 or 94,” Hart said
Bergwijn’s pace rating was in fact 87, but it’s fair to say Hart wasn’t best pleased with this score.
“They’ve not seen him open up yet, this is general, they’re not focusing on the play,” Hart said.

Hart certainly isn’t wrong about Bergwijn’s speed.
The Dutchman can certainly motor, and when he gets into full flow he’s almost impossible to catch.
Hart has played alongside some absolutely rapid players in his career such as Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Gareth Bale, but he seems to think that Bergwijn is up there with the best of them.
We can only hope that Bergwijn’s pace can help him contribute a bit more for Spurs next season as he’s only scored one goal this season, and you’d expect a player that fast to bang in a few more.
