Hibernian manager Jack Ross has opened up on his admiration for Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths amid speculation linking the Scotland international with a move to Easter Road, while speaking to the Daily Record.
There is a very real chance that the Hoops will be taking to the pitch against two of their favourite sons in 2021/22.
Captain Fantastic Scott Brown is taking up a player-coach role at Aberdeen and, with Griffiths out of contract too, another intriguing switch to a Scottish Premiership rival could be on the cards.
Hibs coach Ross was reluctant to give too much away at his Friday press conference but he did let the mask slip for a few short seconds, admitting that the 30-year-old poacher could be welcome in the green half of Edinburgh.
“Is he a player we have admiration for? Of course, because his goal-scoring record is up there with the best in Scotland over recent years,” said the former St Mirren and Sunderland coach.
“It may be something that should the opportunity arise, it would be something we’d discuss.

“But it’s not something we have been able to discuss in any detail because he’s not a player, as of yet, who will be available.”
Griffiths will be a free agent in July with Celtic seemingly yet to make a decision about the future of a player who, despite starting just seven league games this term, remains as ruthless as ever in the penalty area.
The Hoops could also be about to lose Patryk Klimala to the MLS while Odsonne Edouard is expected to depart too.
