Saiz has been dropped from Marcelo Bielsa’s starting Leeds XI of late.

It has now been a year since Samu Saiz last scored a league goal for Leeds United, with the Spaniard’s last effort coming in a 2-0 win at Oakwell against Barnsley – and Leeds fans commented on such an unwanted stat on Twitter.
The 27-year-old has scored this season, finding the back of the net in the 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Bolton. It was his first goal since scoring against Barnsley.
But his league drought remains. In the time from joining Leeds from Huesca for £3.5million (Express) and the goal against Barnsley, Saiz had netted nine times. Since then, he has proved fruitless in front of goal.
It has perhaps been a factor in seeing Saiz drop to the bench for the last four Championship outings. He came on in the 64th minute against Bristol City on Saturday, as Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez struck.

Saiz showed that he is more than good enough to keep around at Elland Road, by creating Hernandez’s strike. His excellent chipped ball was met by fellow countryman Hernandez, who headed home well.
Though he has created four goals in the Championship this season, the jury still remains out on Saiz. Indeed, fans have considered with his worth on Twitter, after being told of the stat.
