Arsenal splashed out on Lucas Perez late in the transfer window, answering their fans’ vocal calls to add another striker.
Four former Gunners are not so lucky to be in demand, finding themselves on the free agent scrapheap, struggling to find a club.
Here is a look at the current situation of the talented but at times controversial quartet…
Nicklas Bendtner
Nicklas Bendtner was starting games for Arsenal as recently as 2014, and was once highly regarded after rising through their youth system and into the first team.

He signed for German club Wolfsburg but struggled to win a place in the first team, and frustrated the club’s management with a series of disciplinary misdemeanours.
Bendtner, 28, has shown at international level he can score goals when he is focused, and will be hoping to find a club and get his career back on track.
Marouane Chamakh
Marouane Chamakh signed for Arsenal in 2010 and impressed early on by scoring in his first three Champions League games.

He then lost his place to Robin van Persie and never recovered, being just a bit part player, and left to join Crystal Palace in 2013.
Chamakh was released this summer and has been training with the Eagles this past week as he tries to keep fit to earn a move, with Norwich City linked during the past 24 hours [via Norwich Evening Press].
Emmanuel Adebayor
Emmanuel Adebayor might be the most talented of the bunch, but he is also the striker with most reason to reflect that his troubles are self inflicted.

He ditched Arsenal to join Manchester City in a £24 million move, and quickly riled Gunners fans by running the length of the pitch to taunt them after scoring at the Etihad.
To make matters worse he then joined rivals Tottenham Hotspur, before falling out of favour there and having his contract terminated, later signing a short term deal with Crystal Palace.
He has not played regularly for the best part of two seasons, but at 32, surely has some football left in him.
Jeremie Aliadiere
One of the biggest what-if’s at Arsenal in recent years, Aliadiere was strongly touted to become an Arsenal regular after impressing in the youth team.

Injuries played their part in ensuring he never really made the breakthrough and he failed to grasp his opportunities out on loan, before signing with Middlesbrough.
He would eventually find form with French side Lorient and was even touted for a France international call up, but quit them in 2014 to join Qatari side Umm Salal, but is now a free agent.
