Newcastle United should go for the Aston Villa defender this summer.

Jordan Amavi confirmed to Nice-Matin on Sunday that he has been transfer listed by Aston Villa – and claimed that he wanted a Premier League move.
With Newcastle United in need of a left-back, should Rafael Benitez swoop?

Benitez has Paul Dummett and Achraf Lazaar as left-back options but neither inspire a great deal of confidence ahead of Newcastle’s return to the Premier League.
Amavi joined Aston Villa for £9 million two years ago (via Birmingham Mail) but with Villa now a Championship club, they might sell for less, though he is contracted to the West Midlands side until 2020.
An injury restricted him to just 10 Premier League appearances during his maiden season but he had, at that point, looked a real livewire who was enjoying his time in England’s top flight.

Going forward, Amavi has an abundance of talent and although he could use some work defensively, he is still only 23 and working under a Champions League-winning coach could do him the world of good.
There is plenty of potential there and if the Aston Villa man wants a Premier League switch, the Newcastle boss should offer him one.
