Everton under-23 coach praises teenager.
Everton’s Tom Davies in action
Everton handed a new contract to teenage midfielder Tom Davies this week, rewarding him for his contribution to the first team this season.
At the age of just 18, Davies has become a regular in Ronald Koeman’s side.
While his form has faded over the past couple of games, Davies has made a big impact, with the highlight being his impressive goal against Manchester City earlier in 2017.
Davies’ under-23 coach David Unsworth has spoken out on the new contract offered to Davies, and discussed the way he has kept his place in Koeman’s team as an example to others.
He told Everton’s official website: “Tom’s had a brilliant season. He’s got himself in the first team and he’s stayed there, which is obviously the next stage for a young player – keeping that spot and racking up appearances that warrant you getting a new contract. He’s done great and we’re obviously all very proud of him.”

He is yet to add to his memorable goal against Manchester City, but has three assists to his name, most recently in the 4-0 win over Hull.
