Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in disbelief after hearing what Davinson Sanchez had to say about the change in style under Jose Mourinho.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the £42 million Mauricio Pochettino signing said: “We feel we can do a lot better, we are much more comfortable playing this way.”

Having played a more free-flowing style at the start of the season, the north Londoners have been a lot more reserved lately.

Spurs scored five goals in a 5-2 win over Southampton in the second game of the Premier League season.

They then smashed six past Manchester United in the fourth game of the campaign.

However, Spurs have become a lot more conservative since then, which has led to disappointing results such as the 1-1 draws with Fulham and Crystal Palace.

The recent 1-0 defeat to Brighton was also another indicator that Tottenham are going backwards instead of forwards.

However, if you were to ignore the results and focus on Sanchez’s comments, the north Londoners are seemingly more comfortable playing in this defence-minded set-up.

Now, some Tottenham fans can’t believe what the Colombia international has said.

From a supporter’s perspective, surely going from smashing Manchester United 6-1, to drawing against Fulham and losing to Brighton, doesn’t suggest you’ve become more comfortable.

Sanchez obviously knows what’s going on behind the scenes better than fans do.

However, based entirely on the performances recently, his words are hard to believe – one supporter suggested the Tottenham No.6 doesn’t even believe what he’s saying himself.

Let’s see what some more fans have been saying after watching the 33-second footage of Sanchez’s comments on Twitter…
