Some Everton fans on social media have been drooling over Ben Godfrey after his incredible performance against Aston Villa on Thursday evening.
The defender has been in top form all season, and once again he was in fine fettle against the Villans, putting in an impressive display for the Merseyside outfit.
The Toffees kept a clean sheet against an incredibly potent Villa side, but unfortunately, they couldn’t breach the Villans’ backline, coming away from the match with only one point.
Everton’s attack may have left a lot to be desired, but their defensive work was nothing short of fantastic, and Godfrey was at the heart of that.
Once again, the former Norwich man barely put a single foot wrong, and as you can imagine, Everton supporters were full of praise for him after the game.
One common theme amongst the reaction was that fans were calling for him to go to the Euros with England, and with Harry Maguire going down injured, it’s hard to argue against that idea.
