Some Arsenal fans on social media have been drooling over Mohamed Elneny’s performance against Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
The Egyptian started in the heart of the Gunners’ midfield against their London rivals, and it’s fair to say that he was fantastic.
Elneny didn’t light the game up with any flashy passes or long-range screamers, but he covered every blade of grass and did his job to perfection.
Playing against Chelsea’s midfield can be an impossible task at times, but Elneny managed it very well, and he deserves a lot of credit for that.
Supporters on social media were more than happy to praise him for his showing at Stamford Bridge, and rightfully so.
There’ve been rumours that Arsenal are in the market for a new midfielder this summer, but if Elneny continues to perform like this, the Gunners may not need to sign anyone in that position after all.
