Speaking on Vibe with Five, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium, comparing it to the Emirates.

Over the past 15 years we’ve seen two new state of the art stadiums pop up in north London, and while both were multi-million or even billion-pound projects, Ferdinand believes that Spurs’ ground is better than Arsenal’s.

What’s been said?

Ferdinand was waxing-lyrical about Tottenham’s new stadium.

“When you go to the stadium, the only way I can explain it is that it’s like the Four Seasons of football grounds. It’s unreal man. It’s got the feeling of keeping the history and the heritage of Tottenham in the new build, which is difficult to do. It’s better than the Emirates, all day,” Ferdinand said.

Best in the country

As much as Old Trafford and Anfield have a really historic and special feel about them, it has to be said that Spurs’ stadium is the best in the country these days.

The ground has been crafted brilliantly. It has a large capacity without losing its soul, and while most new-build grounds can feel like soulless bowls, that’s not the case here.

Sadly, we’ve spent far too long with fans out of grounds since the new stadium opened up, but now that spectators have returned, we’re able to see the fruits of the club’s labour.

The Emirates is certainly impressive, but for our money, there isn’t a stadium in England that can rival Spurs’.
