Leeds United bid farewell to the Championship with an absolute bang tonight.

The Premier League-bound Whites thumped Charlton Athletic 4-0 at Elland Road in their last game of the season.

Goals from Ben White and Stuart Dallas helped Leeds into a 2-0 lead at the break, before Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton added gloss during the second period.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have finished the campaign on 93 points, winning the trophy to boot.

Here’s how Noel Whelan reacted to the win on BBC Radio Leeds: “They’ve been relentless all season. The consistency has been unreal. The players have put everything in again tonight. It’s just been so emphatic. You could see the gulf in style and class.”

Marcelo Bielsa’s side finished the season with 77 goals and 35 against, giving them a goal difference of 42.

Whelan is right and their consistency absolutely has been unreal and it’ll be fascinating to see how they fare in the Premier League.

They’ll need strengthening and there’s no doubt about that, but they have the foundations of something very special in West Yorkshire and with Bielsa in tow, there’s no telling how good they could be.
